"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frighten us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." -- Marianne Williamson, from her book A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles (1992)

Existential Moment

Life can be so harsh...

This is the moment in your life when you just wish you can step back from your life and just watch the world pass by because you're too tired of catching up to it.

What to do with life nowadays?

Everything just seems like it's telling you to just give up.

I just finished watching "Grave of the Fireflies" [Hotaru no Haka] from Studio Ghibli
and it did not help at all. It is a story about a young boy and his sister after World War 2.

All the drama and depression just drags you to sulk even more than you normally would...but then again...you realize it's up to you if you will choose to sit down and be depressed or get up and do something about it when nobody else did. Remembering Seita's way of coping with their situation, it makes you realize that if you let your circumstance defeat you, there is no way out.

This movie just shows how every individual's choices: whether moral or political, personal or general-- can gravely affect the lives of their neighbor.

Makes you want to ask...what is life really all about?
